Floating Blue mug 01
A wheel-thrown mug in red clay with a floating blue glaze. Fingerprints can be seen on the rim where I’ve double dipped the glazes to make the blue, which I love! Slightly larger than the other mugs in the collection.
The floating blue glaze was the first recipe I worked on, taking me 2-3 years to tweak so that I was happy with it! Floating blues really pop on the darker clay body, and I have a technique which encourages a splashy, organic colour pattern. Every one is different.
